Recycle your obsolete electronics at Santa Fe Trail High School

Area residents are invited to bring old technology products to Santa Fe Trail High School on Saturday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to noon, to have electronic items responsibly and securely recycled at no cost. In conjunction with Best Buy of Topeka, the SFT Green Team will collect the items and make sure they are recycled in a responsible manner.

Often these items end up in the landfill and can be harmful to the environment or there is a cost to have them disposed of properly.

Items to be accepted include:

  • TV – 47” or smaller.
  • Desktop and all-in-one computers.
  • Laptops, tablets, e-readers.
  • Monitors.
  • Desktop printers, copiers, scanners, faxes, multifunction devices.
  • Shredders.
  • UPS/battery backup devices (with or without included battery).
  • Computer peripherals including mice, keyboards, modems, routers and computer speakers.
  • Small electronics including mobile phones, MP3 players/iPods, calculators, GPS devices, digital cameras, camcorders and cordless phones.
  • Digital projectors, CD/DVD/Blu-ray players, gaming devices, A/V receivers, video streaming devices.
  • External hard drives and small servers.
  • Rechargeable batteries (11 pounds or less).

Santa Fe Trail High School is located at 1663 East US HWY 56, Carbondale.
