Caroline Gray, 88, Osage City: Jan. 12, 1926 – May 30, 2014

053014-gray2OSAGE CITY – Caroline Gray, 88, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook, Kan. She was born on Jan. 12, 1926, in Fredonia, Kan., the daughter of William and Bonnie Weaver Chamberlain.

Caroline had lived in Lyndon and Hiawatha, but lived most of her life in Topeka.

She worked for several years as a clerk in the A.A.A. agricultural office in Lyndon. She was a member of the Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge, both in Topeka. She was active in the Aldersgate craft group, square dancing and bridge club. She had also learned to fly aircraft.

On April 25, 1948, Caroline was married to Ross Gray, in Leavenworth.

Caroline was preceded in death by a son, Larry Gray, in 2000.

She is survived by her husband, Ross, of the home; her son, John Gray (Anne); daughter-in-law, Nancy Gray, all of Lyndon; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Monday, June 2, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, in Lyndon. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:30 p.m. until service time. Private inurnment will be in the Lyndon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
