This year the city of Burlingame will be putting up an angel tree at city hall as a way for everyone to remember someone special during the holiday season. Angel ornaments are $5 each, with the proceeds going to local adopted families. People can purchase as many angel ornaments as they would like until Dec. 14, 2020.
In addition to the angel ornaments, the city will also be assisting adopted families from the Burlingame area through ECKAN (East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation). The Christmas tree at city hall will have tags on the tree with the adopted families’ Christmas wishes.  Anyone who would like to help with the adopted families’ wishes, is asked to do the following before Dec. 14: Choose your ornament from the tree located at city hall starting Friday, Nov. 20. Hand the ornament to Amy, Anne or Patty, who will record your name and phone number along with the number on the ornament. Go purchase a gift and return to city hall by Dec. 14 with the ornament from the tree.
Donors can either wrap the gift or bring it back unwrapped, but are asked to bring the tag back with the gift. Once gift and tag are returned, donors will be given two angel ornaments, to either write the names of the loved ones on or their name for being the giving angel.
Anyone who would not want to purchase the gift or an angel ornament, but still would like to help, can leave a monetary gift with city staff. Monetary gifts along with the money from the memory angels will be used to purchase items on the adopted families’ wish list for Christmas.
For more information, contact Burlingame City Hall at 785-654-2414.

This is a long shot, but my 7 year old daughter got her first buck, a small 8 point, last week and the antlers have disappeared. They were sitting outside a residence on the north side of Carbondale, and we suspect a dog may have dragged them off. If you have seen them, please call me at 785-418-8627. She is devastated about this and I am willing to pay a cash reward of $100 for their safe return. I will be posting a picture of the antlers in the Carbondale Casey's tomorrow. Thanks

About my hole in one. It was on the par 3, 151 yard 4th hole at Lamont Hill golf course. I made the shot with a 8 iron and went on to shoot 37 for the 9 holes.
