OSAGE CITY, Kan. – Dale Eugene Vandevord, 86, passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Peterson Assisted Living, Osage City. Kan. He was born Aug. 8, 1934, in rural Scranton, Kan., the son of Clifford L. and Anna Mae (Jones) Vandevord.

Dale graduated from Burlingame High School, Burlingame, Kan.

He was joined in marriage to Mary Flora Fisher, Nov. 24, 1954. To this union, five children were born: Steven, Tina, Cindy, Richard and Eugenia.

Dale was a farmer and rancher his entire life in Osage County.

Dale will be forever remembered by his daughters, Tina (Eddie) Burkett, Scranton, Cindy Cordonier, Kansas City, Mo., and Eugenia Akers, Scranton; a son, Richard (Heidi) Vandevord, Scranton; and 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Flora; son, Steven Vandevord; three brothers, Bud, John, Robert Vandevord; and a sister, Anna Louise Fender.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Burlingame Cemetery, Burlingame. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, with family receiving friends 7-8 p.m., at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, Osage City.
