OSAGE COUNTY, Kan. – The Osage County Sheriff’s Office was called to a single vehicle injury accident about 7:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, near Carbondale, Kan. A sheriff’s office press release reported the accident occurred in the 11300 block of South Topeka Avenue, and sheriff’s deputies, Osage County Fire District No. 1 Carbondale, and Osage County EMS responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that a 1991 Chevy pickup driven by Gary L Baker, 61, of Topeka, Kan., had been southbound on Topeka Avenue near 113th Street, when it crossed the northbound lane and entered the east ditch for unknown reasons. Baker was transported to a Topeka hospital with minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation by the Osage County Sheriff’s Office.
