CARBONDALE, Kan. – Frances Tindell, 74, of Carbondale, Kan., passed away at her home on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021. Frances was born Sept. 12, 1946, in Lecompton, Kan., one of 12 children born to George A. and Iva Glenn Chiles.

Frances worked for more than 30 years at Frito Lay, Topeka, Kan. Frances enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who all meant the world to her.

She was married to John Tindell, May 24, 1963, in Scranton, Kan. John passed away on Dec. 8, 2010.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Louise Peterson and husband, Sam, Burlingame, Kan., and Gale Renette Gibbs and husband, David, Carbondale; grandkids, Jessica, Isreal, Breanna, MacKenzie, Alisha and Shelbie; and great grandkids, Kayneslee, Aidyn, James, Alyssa, Atlas and Orion.

Frances was also preceded in death by her parents; 11 siblings; and great granddaughter, Ariya.

A celebration of Frances’ life will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2021, at the Elms Building, 228 Main St., Carbondale.
