Robert Lee Skidmore, 63, Melvern: Nov. 5, 1957 – March 28, 2021

MELVERN, Kan. – Robert Lee Skidmore, 63, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at his home near Melvern, Kan. He was born Nov. 5, 1957, in Emporia, Kan., the son of John and Donna Lee (Burns) Skidmore.

Bob grew up in Lyndon, Kan., and graduated from Lyndon High School in 1975. He had always lived in Lyndon or near Melvern.

Bob started work on the construction of the Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant and then worked there as an electrician for more than 30 years. He had also farmed the last few years. He was a Shriner and a member of the IBEW No. 304.

Bob married Donna June Kautz in 1977; they later divorced. He married Sharada Schroeder in 1994; they later divorced.

Bob was preceded in death by son, Patrick Skidmore, in 1997; his father, John Skidmore; and his ex-wife, Donna Kautz.

Bob is survived by his mother, Donna Hannigan, of Osage City, Kan.; his three daughters, Jennifer Bontrager (Scott Fredrickson), Holton, Kan., Susan Beecham (Ryan Diehl), Goff, Kan., and Bobbi Jo Havenstein (John), Manhattan, Kan.; two brothers, David Skidmore, Tomball, Texas, and John Skidmore, Lebo, Kan.; stepfather, Jim Snyder; three stepsisters, Debbie Woodson (Danny), Melvern, Chris Weber, Arvada, Colo., and Tammy Lee, North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday, at the funeral chapel.
