A passenger in a vehicle driving near Melvern, Kan., was arrested on drug charges after an Osage County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop Thursday.

A press release from the sheriff’s office reported that during the stop at 11:55 a.m. May 6, 2021, near state Highway 31 and 341st Street, the sheriff’s office K-9 dog was used and narcotics were found in the vehicle.

A passenger in the vehicle, Anthony P. Peveto, 30, Hayfield, Minn., was taken into custody and transported to the Osage County Jail on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
