Melvern Jr. Highline 4-H Club to enjoy Melvern Lake during June meeting

On Sunday, May 2, 2021, the Melvern Jr. Highline 4-H Club held its monthly club meeting at the Melvern Community Center. At 5:02 p.m. the meeting was called to order by President Braelyn McNally. The club began their meeting with The Pledge of Allegiance and 4-H Pledge led by Braelyn.

Secretary Amelia Arb called roll; members and parents were to answer with “What is your favorite kind of chip?” There were ten members and four adults present. Amelia read the minutes from the last meeting; they were approved as read.

Vice President Justin Brinkley read the treasurer’s report; it was approved as read.

Reporter Bella Reeser stated she submitted one article to the newspaper.

In historian’s report, Historian Allie Reeser shared 4-H memories from Ashley Phelon-Beying, former MJH member.

In leader’s report, Lisa Reeser reminded members to read over the meeting notes sheet, and reminded members that 4-H camp will be in person this year and fill out scholarship applications if you have not done so.

In new business, the club made the decision to hold the June club meeting at Melvern Lake. The meeting will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2021.

In program, members watched Bella’s demonstration on how to give a duck a bath.

In songs, Anna Arb lead the club in singing “Happy Birthday” to all our April and May birthdays.

At 5:24 p.m. it was moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting.

For recreation, club members enjoyed refreshments while showing their appreciation of their teachers by writing thank you notes to them.
