BURLINGAME, Kan. – Cody Dean Prescott, 41, of Burlingame, Kan., passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Midland Care Hospice, Topeka, Kan. He was born March 20, 1980, in Topeka, the son of David Prescott and Diana Lynn (Creviston) Prescott.
Cody grew up in the Burlingame area, graduating from Burlingame High School with the class of 1999. Cody work for 20 years in the new home construction industry, most of those years working for Holthouse Construction. He later was a certified nurse’s assistant at Presbyterian Manor Care home for two years.
Cody enjoyed woodworking and loved listening to jazz music. He spent many hours tinkering in his shop, just seeing what he could make out of different things he found lying around.
His main focus and biggest love of his life was his daughter, Emme. Every second he could spend with her was a joy for him. He was proud of his daughter and loved her unconditionally.
Cody is preceded in death by his mother, Diana Lynn Prescott.
Survivors include his daughter, Emme Prescott, Topeka; father, David Dean Prescott, Burlingame, and Patrisha Rusher, Burlingame; brother, Troy Wade Prescott, Burlingame; and a sister, Heather Diana, Auburn, Kan.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at the Federated Church of Burlingame, 322 S. Topeka Ave., Burlingame. Interment will follow at Burlingame Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-1 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at the church.
