CARBONDALE, Kan. – Steven Gray, 29, of Carbondale, Kan., died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at his home. He was born March 15, 1992, in Paragould, Ark., the son of Charles Gray and Kathy (Urban) Adams.
Steven moved at the age of three with his family to Carbondale, and has lived there ever since. He was a class of 2012 graduate of the Kansas School for the Deaf, Olathe, Kan.
Steven was a warehouse and shipping loader in his professional life. For the past three years he was proud to be working at the Home Depot Distribution Center, Topeka, Kan.
Steven was well known with his friends and family to be a work-out warrior. He loved lifting weights and being physically fit. He was always excited to work with his tools. Remodeling his house was probably his favorite way to be able to get his tools out. He was always happy when there was a project to work on. Of all of the things in Steven’s life, most important was his son, Domiquez. He loved spending quality time with him and was always excited to play with his son.
On March 1, 2017, Steven was united in marriage to Kendra Raposo. They later divorced.
Steven was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Cecil and Nancy Urban.
He is survived by his son, Domiquez Gray, of Carbondale; father, Charles Gray and his wife, Ligaya, Carbondale; mother, Kathy Adams and her husband, Colin, Carbondale; three siblings, Josh Gray, Virginia Beach, Va., Heather Gray, Osage City, Kan., Gabriel Gray, Carbondale; and paternal grandparents, Harold Wayne Gray and Paulette Gray, Paragould.
To celebrate Steven’s life, funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Grace Chapel, 419 S. Third St., Carbondale. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Scranton, Kan. The family will meet with friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 30, at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 730 Western Heights Drive, Overbrook.
