James ‘J.D.’ Robinson, 53, Meriden: Jan. 22, 1968 – July 29, 2021

MERIDEN, Kan. – James Donald “J.D.” Robinson, 53, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka, Kan. He was born Jan. 22, 1968, in Topeka, the son of James Robinson and Linda (Miller) Robinson.

J.D. was preceded in death by his mother, Linda, on June 18, 2021.

J.D. is survived by his fiance, Susie Robinson, of Topeka; son, Nathaniel Robinson, Topeka; sister, Diana Hutchcroft and husband, Robert, of Lyndon, Kan.; nephew, Colton Hutchcroft, Lyndon; and niece, Josye Hutchcroft, Lyndon.

J.D. grew up in Lyndon where he lived for several years and went to school. He transferred schools and graduated from Washburn Rural High School, Topeka. JD went back to school in 2003, and received his associate degree in applied science, architectural and engineering technology from the University of Alaska in 2006.

J.D. had many talents and worked a variety of jobs, including being a drafter and bartending. He was happiest working as a stagehand for concerts and theatre productions like Jesus Christ Superstar. His first concert worked was Nine Inch Nails on the video crew. He also worked concerts for Johnny Cash and June Carter, Alan Jackson, Mastodon, Alice in Chains, Jimmy Buffett and countless others. J.D. had a love of music like no other and shared that love with his family and friends daily.

In 2018, J.D. began dating the love of his life. He lived in Meriden together with his fiancé, Susie, daughter Taylor, son Tanner, and granddaughter Isabel. His son Nate lives nearby in Topeka. J.D. was home bound the last year of his life and loved and cared for by Susie 24/7. His presence will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life for J.D. and his mother, Linda, was held July 31. Inurnment with his Mom will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery, Palco, Kan.
