CARBONDALE, Kan. – Cory Micheal Molloy, 42, passed away Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka, Kan. He was born Dec. 13, 1978, in Moundridge, Kan., the son of James D. Molloy and Norma J. Sloan.
Cory had lived most of his life around the Carbondale, Kan., community. Cory worked as a heavy equipment operator, and was a grader operator for Rush County, Osage County, and Williamsport Township.
On Feb. 13, 2018, Cory was united in marriage to Jennifer Marx, at Carbondale.
Cory was a loving son, husband, father and brother. He loved life and always wanted everyone around him to have a great day and a good time.
Cory is survived by his wife, Jennifer Molloy, and daughter, Chevelle Molloy, both of the home; his mother, Norma J. McNair, McCracken, Kan.; stepmother, Claudine Irwin, Plainville, Kan.; stepson, Justin Wools, Topeka; two grandsons, Sterling and Hudson Wools; four siblings, sister, Tracy (Rodney) Humbert, Topeka, and her children, Taylor (Amanda) Whitaker, Tyler Whitaker, Michael Humbert, and Addison Humbert; brother, Jeffery Molloy, Carbondale, and his children, Lexie and Colton Molloy; sister, Jamie (Dallas) DeWitt, McCracken, and her children, Mason Davison, and Hunter and Maverick DeWitt; and sister, Ariel (Steven) Jacques, Topeka; paternal grandmother, Margaret Molloy, Carbondale; and many cousins, aunts, and uncle; loved by all and with many memories throughout his life with them all.
Cory was preceded in death by his father, James “Jim” Molloy; his paternal grandfather, Jefferson Molloy; and maternal grandparents, Emmett and Marjorie Sloan.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship, 430 Commercial St., Carbondale . The family will receive friends 10 a.m. until service time at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Carbondale Cemetery.
