BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Betty Ann King, 86, formerly of Vassar, Kan., passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Prairie House Assisted Living, Broken Arrow, Okla. She was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Washington, Kan., the daughter of Fred and Nora (Foster) Peterson.
Betty had lived in Pomona Heights on Lake Pomona, near Vassar, for more than 40 years before moving to Oklahoma in 2020.
Betty had done clerical work for Cappers Insurance Services, Topeka, Kan., for more than 30 years until her retirement. She had been a member of the Vassar United Methodist Church.
On Aug. 1, 1962, Betty was united in marriage to Don King, in Topeka. To this union a daughter was born, Diane.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Don, on June 18, 2009; her parents, Fred and Nora; and sister, Beverly, this past March.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Diane Kalik and husband, Andrew, of Dallas, Texas; and two grandsons, Hutton and Bently Kalik.
A graveside memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Vassar Cemetery.
