Patti Jane Croy, 65, Vassar: Oct. 21, 1955 – Sept. 10, 2021

VASSAR, Kan. – Patti Jane Croy, 65, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, near Vassar, Kan., in an automobile accident. Patti Jane Jackson was born Oct. 21, 1955, in Emporia, Kan., the daughter of John Henry and Jane Estella Christiason.

She graduated from Osage City High School in 1973, and Brown Mackie College with associate degree in business.

She was joined in marriage to Don Croy Jr., June 21, 2001.

After graduating from college, Patti began working for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, in water management, where she would work for the next 46 years.

She was an avid calligrapher and loved cross stitch and gardening. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Osage City, and donated many hours to the Topeka Rescue Mission.

Patti will be forever remembered by her husband, Don Croy Jr., of the home; a daughter, Missy (Darin) Graves, Ottawa, Kan.; mother, Jane Jackson, Osage City; two sisters, Jeanne Ihnken, Bennington, Kan., and Tammi (Doug) Brabb, Osage City; a brother, Jody (Debbie) Jackson, Osage City; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Jackson; a daughter, Sara Rae Voiers; and a brother, John Paul Jackson.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at the First United Methodist Church, Osage City. Friends may pay respects 4-8 p.m. Thursday at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, Osage City. Inurnment will take place at later date at the Osage City Cemetery.
