BURLINGAME, Kan. – Wilma Pauline Moody, 95, Burlingame, Kan., died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, at Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook, Kan. She was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Toledo, Kan., the daughter of Ivan and Mae Finuf.
Wilma graduated from Chase County High School, and business school, in Wichita.
She married Jack E. Bechelmayr. They later divorced. On Sept. 17, 1949, Wilma was united in marriage to Oscar W. Moody.
Wilma was a telephone operator and later worked for the ASCS office while she lived in Dighton, Kan. Wilma and Oscar moved to Osage County, Kansas, in 1975, and she then worked for the Kansas State Department of Education, Topeka, Kan., until her retirement in 1986.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar; and a brother, Boyd Finuf.
Survivors include a daughter, Leta (Dix) Smith; son, Boyd E. (Linda) Bechelmayr; and five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Wilma was cremated. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, in Ramskill Chapel, at Burlingame Cemetery, Burlingame.
