Marcina Lynn Wall, 62, Overbrook: March 22, 1959 – Sept. 22, 2021

OVERBROOK, Kan. – Marcina Lynn Wall, 62, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka, Kan. Marcina Lynn was born March 22, 1959, in Topeka, the daughter of Clarence Leroy Adolph Jr. and Dorothy Irene Tucker-Adolph. She was adopted in 1978 by her stepfather, Duane Lee White.

Marcina married Chris Leroy Hulsopple, June 8, 1974, and to this union a daughter was born, Kristina Lynn Hulsopple. They divorced in October 1976. Marcina Lynn Adolph-White and Merlin Jay Wall were united in marriage, April 2, 1977, at the Baptist Church, Carbondale, Kan. To this union three children were born. They made their home in Scranton, Kan., and later moved to Overbrook, Kan., where they remained until her death.

Marcina had been a member of the Scranton United Methodist Church, the National Wild Turkey Federation, Kaw Valley Turkey Chapter, and The Cherish Teddy Association. She attended Osage City Elementary School for kindergarten to second grades. They moved to Scranton and she attended Scranton Elementary School third through eighth grades, and then attended Santa Fe Trail High School, where she received her GED in 1979. She attended Kaw Area Vocational Technical School and received a certificate for completing the secretarial office education of general office clerk in May 1977. She also attended Topeka Technical College and graduated with a computer accounting degree in October 1990.

Marcina started her working career at Dean’s Drive In as a short order cook and waitress in 1975. Then in 1976, she worked at The Ranch House at Four Corners, and Social and Rehabilitation Services, and then at MacMillian Publishing Company. In 1984 she worked for Dibbles IGA Bakery as a cake decorator, and in 1985, Resource Center for Independent Living, in 1990, Copy Center of Topeka until 2004, and then Community Resource Council, and in 2005 at Jerry’s Thriftway and The Osage County Herald. In 2007, after having back surgery, she was forced to retire.

Marcina was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Dorothy White; daughter, Kristina Lynn Hulsopple; grandson, Michael Prothe; and a brother-in-law, Michael Wall.

Marcina is survived by her husband, Merlin Wall, of 44 years; two sons, Matthew (Damaris)Wall, Topeka, and Carl (Roxanna) Wall, Scranton; daughter, Valerie (Ronald) Prothe, Garnett, Kan.; five sisters, Gail (Charlie) Carr, Linda White, Cindy (Robert) Parks, Mary (Daniel) Lamb, and Kim Prothe; three brothers-in-law, Norman Wall, Michael (Charlotte) Wall and Steven (Carol) Swader; two sisters-in-law, Cynthia Wall and Sheila Senn; 12 grandchildren, Mckenzie, Riley, Kaylie, Greggory, James, Michael, Cherish, Bethanie, Lawrence, Candace, April and Latisha; 12 great-grandchildren, Connor, Ivy, Aleki, Piper, Connor, Aiden, Ellie, Emmett, Serenity, Elena, Aria and Auroura; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Cross Road Community Church, Scranton. Interment will follow at the Scranton Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon, Kan.
