Osage County Sheriff reports area drug arrests

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office has released the following information about recent drug arrests in Osage County.

At 2:42 p.m. Oct. 18, 2021, an Osage County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of East 229th Street. During the stop, a K-9 was deployed, and narcotics were located. The driver of the vehicle, Charles S. McNatt, 64, Lyndon, Kan., was arrested on charges of suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license suspended, no proof of insurance, and traffic infractions.

At 10:08 p.m. Oct. 7, 2021, an Osage County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 23600 block of South Ratner Road for a traffic violation. During the stop, narcotics were located in the possession of a passenger. Crystal D. Phillips, 30, of Ottawa, Kan., was arrested on charges of suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no drug tax stamp.

After a lengthy narcotics investigation, Osage County Sheriff’s Office investigators and deputies conducted a narcotic search warrant the morning of Sept. 30, 2021, at a residence in the 800 block of Southwest Main Street, in Melvern, Kan. Jeffrey A. Meade, 37, of Melvern, was arrested on charges of suspicion of distribution of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal use of a weapon, and no drug tax stamp.

At 10:40 a.m. Sept. 23, 2021, an Osage County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at the Waverly exit on Interstate 35 for a traffic violation. During the stop, illegal narcotics were located. The driver of the vehicle, Megan L. Wharton, 33, of Lawrence, Kan., was arrested on charges of suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 3:51 p.m. Sept. 17, 2021, an Osage County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop near Fourth and Maple streets in Quenemo, Kan., for a traffic violation. During the stop, illegal narcotics were located. A passenger in the vehicle, Vanessa M. Traver, 33, of Quenemo, was arrested on charges of suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 10:09 a.m. Sept. 16, 2021, an Osage County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at milepost 165 on Interstate 35 for a traffic violation. During the stop, a K-9 was deployed and illegal narcotics were located. The driver of the vehicle, Michael A. Robinson, 27, of Lawrence, Kan., was arrested on charges of suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
