OCPR Update: Applicants needed to fill advisory board vacancies

OCPR-logo-redSignup deadline is near for Osage City Parks and Recreation youth basketball. Youth basketball is for third through sixth grade boys and girls, and teams compete in the Scott Brown Youth Basketball League. The OCPR parks advisory board is also seeking applicants to fill three at-large board positions. See details below.


Youth Basketball
Third-sixth grade boys and girls

OCPR teams participate in the Scott Brown Youth Basketball League. League divisions are single grades 3rd-6th grade for boys and girls.

  • Team practice can begin the week of Nov. 29, if a head coach has been assigned.
  • SBBL Season, Saturdays, Jan. 8-Feb. 19.
  • SBBL League Divisional Tournaments, Feb. 26.
  • OCPR players receive a team uniform (jersey and shorts), uniform is to be returned at the end of the season.
  • Cost $30

Signup deadline Nov. 8.

OCPR coach-player discount available and OCPR scholarship forms available.

OCPR Basketball, K-Ball and 1st/2nd grade information will be available in December.


Parks Advisory Board Openings

OCPR is accepting applicants to fill three at-large advisory board positions.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must reside within the USD 420 School District.
  • Meetings are the third Thursday of each month.
  • Complete a Citizen’s Board Application; it can be picked up at Osage City Hall or sent out upon request. Return the Citizen’s Board Application to Osage City Hall or to Recreation Director Corey Linton.
  • The board position is a two-year term, with an option of up to two consecutive renewals.
  • Open until filled.
