Mary Helen Fasse, 82, Carbondale: Oct. 31, 1939 – Dec. 27, 2021

CARBONDALE, Kan. – Mary Helen Fasse, 82, passed away on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka, Kan. She was born Oct. 31, 1939, near Neosho, Mo., the daughter of Kenneth and Florence (Testerman) Ehrhart.

Mary had lived in Emporia, Kan., and then Topeka for eight years before moving to Carbondale, Kan., in 1970. Mary had worked as a dental assistant and had been a homemaker. She was a member of the Covenant Baptist Church and the Christian Motorcycle Association.

On Sept. 16, 1962, Mary was married to Carroll Fasse, in Emporia. To this union, three children were born, Angela, Crystal and Eric.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her godmother, Doris Burden.

Mary is survived by her husband, Carroll, of nearly 60 years; her three children, Angela Cowen, Burlingame, Kan., Crystal (Chris) Cason, Topeka, and Eric Fasse, Wichita, Kan.; sister, Beverly Williams, Wyandotte, Okla.; six grandchildren, Chloe, Maya, Walker, Levi, Jacob and James; and two great-grandchildren, Will and Lexi.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at the Shawnee Center Cemetery, Wakarusa. A celebration of life will be 2-4 p.m. Jan. 15, 2022, at Covenant Baptist Church, Topeka.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Covenant Baptist Church to help cover funeral expenses.
