Veronica L. Johnson, 61, Osage City: May 6, 1960 – Jan. 1, 2022

OSAGE CITY, Kan. – Veronica L. Johnson, 61, passed away Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, at Newman Regional Health, Emporia, Kan. Veronica Lee Miller was born May 6, 1960, in Neubruecke, Germany, the daughter of Quincy Melvon and Margaret Sue (Hamner) Miller.

She graduated from Mission Valley High School. She received a degree in horticulture from Kaw Area Vocational Technical School, Topeka, Kan.

She was joined in marriage to Miles Hayden Johnson, May 19, 1979, in Topeka, Kansas. To this union, three sons were born, Lyle, Spencer and Kingham.

Veronica was a school cook at USD 420, Osage City, for the past 11 years.

Veronica will be forever remembered by her husband, Miles Johnson, of the home; her parents, Quincy and Margaret Miller, Osage City; three sons, Lyle E. Johnson, Meriden, Kan., Spencer M. (Amanda) Johnson, Osage City, and Kingham (Kayci) Johnson, Manhattan, Kan.; three sisters, Jolene (Wayne) Clark, Kansas City, Mo., Vietta (Rick) Eubanks, Emporia, and Alois (Justin) Whalen, Osage City; a brother, Robert (Rita) Miller, Topeka; and grandchildren, Kiara, Gavin, Jace, Lydia, Sidney, and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by a baby sister.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
