OTTAWA, Kan. – Wayne L. Knight, 75, passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at Advent Health, Shawnee Mission, Kan. He was born April 3, 1946, in Bradford, Kan., the son of Bill and Anna May (Newton) Knight.

Wayne attended No. 10 School on Buttermilk Lane, southwest of Harveyville, Kan. He graduated from Harveyville High School in 1964.

Wayne worked as an industrial electrician with Boise Hilburn Electric and ECKC Electric. He loved riding motorcycles, camping, and at one time he owned his own airplane. He loved being with his family and friends.

On Aug. 25, 1967, Wayne was united in marriage to the love of his life, Thelma Greeve. They were married for more than 51 years and were the proud parents of three sons, Wayne Jr., Matthew J. and William T.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; son, Matthew; and parents, Bill and Anna May.

Wayne is survived by his two sons, Wayne Knight and family, and Bill Knight and family; his daughter-in-law, Penny Knight; brother, Ken “Lucky” Knight; two sisters, Linda Woodyard and family, and Sharron Spurrier and family; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon, Kan. Burial will be in the Burlingame Cemetery, Burlingame, Kan. The family will receive friends 1 p.m. until service time Friday.
