Hunter Joe Ayers, 29, Burlington: April 17, 1992 – Jan. 13, 2022

BURLINGTON, Kan. – Hunter J. Ayers, 29, of Burlington, Kan., passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at his home. Hunter Joe Ayers was born April 17, 1992, in Emporia, Kan., the son of Robert Joe and Kathy Sue (Kolbaba) Ayers.

He graduated from Osage City High School, Osage City, Kan., in 2011.

Hunter cared deeply about his family and friends. He loved spending time with them, especially his grandma, Juanita. He enjoyed cooking, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Hunter loved dogs and the companionship they provided. He was a direct support professional for COF Training Services, Burlington, caring for individuals in need. Hunter was so many things. He was an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend. Most of all, he was a kind soul that meant the world to those that loved him.

Hunter will be forever remembered by his parents, Robert and Kathy Ayers, of Osage City; brother, Walker (Lauren) Ayers, Emporia, Kan.; maternal grandmother, Juanita Kolbaba, Osage City; paternal grandfather, Robert (Vickie) Ayers, El Dorado, Mo.; paternal grandmother, Joanne (Alan) Washburn, Lamar, Mo.; a nephew, Emerson Joe; and a niece, Holly Marie Ayers.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Kolbaba; and an uncle, Steven Kolbaba.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
