LYNDON, Kan. – Tommy Ray Leuszler, 78, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022, at his home in Lyndon, Kan. He was born Feb. 21, 1944, in Topeka, Kan., the son of Robert M. and Helen B. (Mathey) Leuszler.
Tom grew up in Lyndon, and had lived in Topeka for a time before moving back to Lyndon.
Tom served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970, and then started to work as a meat cutter for Ohse Meats. He then began work for the city of Lyndon and retired after 23 years as superintendent. From 2003 to 2009 he was a custodian for the Appanoose Grade School. Tom was a member of the Lyndon United Methodist Church, the Meat Cutters Union, and the Lyndon American Legion Post No. 125.
On June 10, 2005, Tom was united in marriage to Bridget (Wills) Haney, in Burlington, Kan.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Robert M. and Helen B. and his brother, Robert L. Leuszler.
Tom is survived by his wife, Bridget, of the home; son, Michael (Germaine) Leuszler, Topeka; three grandchildren, Alexis, Jacob and Gabriel Leuszler; sister-in-law, Arlene Leuszler; two nephews, Rob (Mary Ann) Leuszler and John Leuszler; two nieces, Cindy Locey and Jeanne Clark; and five great-nieces, Andi (David) Leuszler-Hammack, Amy and Anna Leuszler, and Emily and Katy Locey.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends and family from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial with military honors will be in the Lyndon Cemetery.
