MELVERN, Kan. – Kevin Wade Orear, 64, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022, near Lebo, Kan. He was born May 12, 1957, in Topeka, Kan., the son of Keith and Joyce (Haynes) Orear.
Kevin grew up in Melvern, Kan., where he attended Melvern Schools. He had lived in Lyndon, Kan., for a time before moving back to Melvern.
Kevin worked as a track hoe operator in construction for many years and was a member of Local No. 101 Operating Engineers.
Kevin was married to Deb Walters, in 1977 in Melvern. They later divorced. He was married to Tammy Sue Orear in 1993, they later divorced.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Joyce.
Kevin is survived by his daughter, Dessie Orear, Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, Marlin (Christine) Orear, Melvern, Rusty (Adeana) Orear, Halstead, Kan., and Chris Orear, Melvern; and two nephews and a niece.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until service time. Inurnment will be in the Melvern Cemetery at a later date.
