LAWRENCE, Kan. – Elizabeth Ann Pankratz, 80, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022, at her home in Lawrence, Kan. She was born on July 15, 1941, in Texas, and was the adopted daughter of Frank and Nellie Clark.
Elizabeth grew up in Bartlesville and Boise City, Okla. She had lived several years in Topeka, Kan., and then on a horse ranch south of Overbrook, Kan.
She graduated from the University of Kansas and worked for the state of Kansas as a topographer. She had also worked as a dispatcher for the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office and was a deputy undersheriff. She was also a dispatcher for the EMT service in Overbrook.
She was a member of Grace Community Church, Overbrook, and the American Quarter Horse Association.
On March 6, 1993, Elizabeth was united in marriage to John Pankratz, in Miami, Okla.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, John, on March 25, 2019; a son, Bradly Pankratz, in 2007; brother, Hal Clark, in 2020; and her parents, Frank and Nellie.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Colette (Mark) Jones, of Manhattan, Kan.; her son, Mitchel Pankratz, Ottawa, Kan.; four grandchildren, Faith Hartley, Gardner, Kan., Samuel Jones of Lincoln, Neb., Scott Pankratz, Gardner, and Adam Pankratz, San Diego, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon, Kan. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Valley Brook Cemetery, south of Overbrook.
