OCPR Update: Osage City offers free swim on Fourth of July

OCPR-logo-redSummer is here and Osage City Parks and Recreation is lining up some fun for the season. The Osage City Aquatic Center is open for cooling off or to participate in swim lessons or other activities at the pool. In addition, the aquatic center is offering a Fourth of July swim with free admission 1-5 p.m. on the holiday. Other upcoming activities include youth golf camp and youth football camp.


Red Cross Swim Lessons

  • Group swim lesson forms available online at www.osagecity.com, the Osage City Facebook Page, Osage City Hall, or OCAC.
  • Private lessons: Session 2, July 11-15; Session 3, July 18-22; Session 4, July 25-29. OCAC staff will contact you about a time during the session selected. Other times may be available (Contact OCAC). $40 per week, per swimmer (One week=five 30-minute lessons). Contact OCAC to signup.
  • Pre-school sessions: Pre-K Swimmers MUST be age 3 by the first day of class to be enrolled in the session. A minimum of 4 swimmers is needed for a class to make.
  • Swim lessons are Monday-Thursday ONLY. Friday will be used as a make-up day (as needed). Lessons WILL NOT be held if the air temperature is below 70 degrees.

Free Swim 4th of July

Osage City Aquatic Center – 525 S. Second St., Osage City. Free Pool Admission, ALL SWIMMERS, 1-5 p.m.

Osage City Aquatic Center

  • OCAC Pool Hours: May 28-Aug. 14, Monday-Friday, 1-6 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday, 1-6 p.m.
  • Daily Admission: $3 (Age 4 & above); age 3 & below FREE; age 65 & over FREE.
  • OCAC Swim Pass Booklets: Swim Booklets can be purchased at OCAC. 50 Swim Card Booklet, $50
  • Deck and pool rental reservation can be made with Corey Linton, before May 28

Water Aerobics
Instructor, Marcy DeWitt

  • Tuesday & Thursday, 6-7 p.m.; week of June 6 through the week of August 1
  • $3 per class or one swim card

Youth Golf Camp

  • 3rd-8th grade boys & girls. Grade is based on the 2022-2023 school year.
  • OCPR is partnering with Lesli Harmon and the OCHS Golf Teams to provide this Youth Golf Camp. This camp will teach fundamentals of the game, including swing mechanics and etiquette.
  • July 25-27, 9-10:30 a.m. – ALL grades. Osage City Municipal Golf Course, 1401 S. Fourth St.
  • $30 per student. Golf clubs – students can bring their own to use, or clubs will be available for those who do not own any.

Turn in forms and payment to Osage City Hall, 201 S. Fifth St., the Osage City Municipal Golf Course, or Lesli Harmon.

Signup deadline, July 18.


Youth Football Camp

  • 1st-6th Grade: Grade is based on the 2022-2023 school year.
  • August 2-4: 7-8 p.m., 1st & 2nd grade; 7-8:45 p.m. (3rd-6th tackle players)
  • $15 per player. Campers receive a T-shirt.

Signup deadline, July 22.
