Dolores L. “Dottie” Mochamer, 96, Topeka: Nov. 24, 1925 – Aug. 20, 2022

TOPEKA, Kan. – Dolores L. “Dottie” Mochamer, 96, passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka, Kan. She was born Nov. 24, 1925, on the family farm near Vassar, Kan., the daughter of Herbert and Ethel (Kinter) Barnhart.

Dottie had grown up near the Vassar and Lyndon, Kan., communities. She had lived in Melvern, then Ozawkie for 24 years, and Topeka for 20 years. She had wintered in Florida for 20 years as well.

Dottie had worked at Hallmark Cards as a section manager for 38 years. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Methodist church. She had lived life to the fullest, and enjoyed every day like it was her last.

Dottie was married to Eugene Mochamer; they later divorced.

Dottie was preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria Fessler; good friend, Donald Conrad; and two brothers, Dale and Herb Barnhart.

Dottie is survived by her two children, Sharon Markley, of Topeka, and her son,  Dale Mochamer (Donna), Ottawa, Kan.; half sister, Jane Holden, Berryton, Kan.; half brother, Gary Barnhart, Kansas City, Kan.; and seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Lyndon Cemetery.
