TOPEKA, Kan. – Donnie W. High, 77, of Topeka, Kan., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, at Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born April 10, 1945, at Miller, Kan., the son of Charley Edward and Emily Mabel (Tharp) High.
Donnie married Annie May, May 15, 1971, in Emporia, Kan. They shared 51 years of wonderful marriage. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and taking care of his lawn. You could find Donnie on his riding lawn mower, cutting grass at home and at work. He was a former member of First Bible Baptist Church, Great Bend, Kan., as well as South Knollwood Baptist Church. Donnie and Annie are current members of Topeka Bible Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Annie M. High; two sons, Daniel High, and Timothy High and wife, Lynda; four grandchildren, Valla, Sam, Elvira, and Doran; and five siblings, Katie, Nita, Charles, Bertha and Earlene.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Jessie, Geri, and Vernon.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Topeka Bible Church (CAB Building), 1135 SW College Ave., Topeka. Inurnment will take place at Ivy Cemetery, rural Lyon County, at a later date.
