Help Wanted: Osage City Aquatic Center – Manager, Asst. Manager, Swim Team Coord.

The Osage City Aquatic Center is seeking applicants for positions of Osage City Aquatic Center Pool Manager, Assistant Pool Manager, and Swim Team Coordinator for the 2023 swimming season.

Osage City Aquatic Center Pool Manager

The Osage City Aquatic Center Pool Manager is a Seasonal Full-Time Position managing the operations of OCAC, under the supervision of the Parks & Recreation Director. The Pool Manager plans, organizes, and supervises aquatic programs offered at the Osage City Aquatic Center, and oversees 15-20 seasonal lifeguards plus Concession Workers and Assistant Managers, in the operation of the pool and its activities.

  • Preferred experience operating a large swimming pool operation including sanitation, maintenance, filtration, purification, and safety.
  • Preferred knowledge of principles, practices, and application of lifesaving, first-aid, and CPR techniques.
  • Possess basic business management skills, including supervising staff, planning and supervising the work of others, organizing and planning resources, and analyzing operations.
  • Must maintain certification in the following: American Red Cross Life Guarding, Water Safety Instructor Certificate, First-Aid and CPR, Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator.
  • Seasonal Full-Time Position, not to exceed 40 hours per week. Requires work on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
  • Pay rate is based on previous experience level.

Assistant Pool Manager

The Assistant Pool Manager, under the supervision of the Pool Manager, manages the operations of the Osage City Aquatic Center, and helps to plan, organize, and supervise aquatic programs offered at the Center. The Assistant Pool Manager oversees 15-20 seasonal lifeguards plus Concession Workers, in the operation of the pool and its activities.

  • Preferred experience operating a large swimming pool operation including sanitation, maintenance, filtration, purification, and safety.
  • Preferred knowledge of principles, practices, and application of lifesaving, first-aid, and CPR techniques.

Swim Team Coordinator

The Swim Team Coordinator, under the supervision of the OCAC Pool Manager and Osage City Parks and Recreation Director, manages the Swim Team, organizes, and supervises the swim team practices and seasonal swim meets offered through OCPR, oversees up to 5 seasonal lifeguards who serve as assistant coaches for the swim team, and assigns and supervises their duties during the swim team practices and each swim meet.

  • Preferred experience as a Water Safety Instructor and/or Swim Team Coach preferred.
  • Preferred knowledge of principles, practices, and application of lifesaving, first-aid, and CPR techniques.
  • Possess basic coaching skills, including practice planning and organization, ability to teach the swim meet strokes to new and experienced swimmers.
  • Coordinate swim meets for the Osage City team, and be the lead organizer of the swim meet hosted in Osage City each season.
  • Must maintain certification in the following: American Red Cross Life Guarding, Water Safety Instructor Certificate, First-Aid and CPR.
  • Seasonal Part-Time Position, not to exceed 30 hours per week. Requires work on weekdays and weekends.
  • Pay rate is based on previous experience level.
