Recent sheriff’s reports:

At 1:40 p.m. Jan. 8, 2023, an Osage County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at milepost 46 on K-31 highway, near Melvern, for a traffic violation. During the stop, illegal narcotics were located. The driver of the vehicle, Shelly R. Stephens, 45, of Osawatomie, Kan., was taken into custody and transported to the Osage County Jail on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a prescription only drug, traffic contraband into a correctional facility, and driving without insurance.
