SCRANTON, Kan. – Ronald Ray Neilson, 62, was tragically taken in a vehicle accident on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023. He was born Jan. 5, 1961, in Topeka, Kan., the son of Arley Ray and Josephine (Rose) Neilson.
Ron lived near Lyndon, Kan., all of his life. After graduating from Lyndon High School in 1979, Ron purchased a farm a few miles from his childhood home, where he co-farmed with his father and raised cattle.
On May 28, 1983, Ron was united in marriage to Connie Lynn Jones, in Ottawa, Kan. To this union four children were born, Kyle, Kevin, Katelyn, and Kade.
Ron became a rural mail carrier for the post office, and a fieldman for Overbrook Livestock Commission, Overbrook, Kan. He was a member of the Topeka Baptist Church.
Ron is survived by his wife, Connie, of 39 years; his four children, Kyle, Lyndon, Kevin, Bucyrus, Kan., Katelyn, Olathe, Kan., and Kade, Liberty, Mo.; parents, Arley Ray and Jo; two sisters, Cathy Keezer, Wichita, Kan., and Robin Nitcher, Pomona, Kan.; and 10 grandchildren.
Ron was passionate about his family, never shied away from a challenge, and prided himself on always giving 110 percent in everything he did. He made a lasting impact everywhere he went and worked. He will be missed more than words can describe.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Grace Community Church, 310 E. Eighth St., Overbrook. Burial will be at the Vassar Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:30-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon.
