Recent sheriff’s reports: At 10:10 p.m. March 1, 2023, an Osage County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at milepost 142 on U.S. Highway 75, near Carbondale, Kan. During the stop, narcotics and a firearm were located. The driver of the vehicle, Blake A. Coffman, 39, Topeka, Kan., was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and defacing identification marks on a firearm. A passenger in the vehicle, Jessica R. Castle, 31, Topeka was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. Both were booked into the Osage County Jail.
