HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Our community lost an important member, Janeen Emery Boettger, of Hot Springs, Ark., who passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023. She was born April 29, 1940, in McCook, Neb., the daughter of Lindenburg Deforest Emery and Mae Lorraine Morosic Emery.
On Oct. 21, 1978, she married the love of her life, Timothy W. Boettger, who passed away Dec. 29, 2021. She is also preceded in death by her parents.
Janeen was a Kansas University alumni.
“Our mom was a pillar of the healthcare community of Hot Springs. She was a wound and ostomy specialty nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, professor of nursing, and colleague. She provided the best care, for which she is celebrated, always showing such compassion. Along with being an amazing nurse, she was an even more incredible wife, mom and grandma. She was notorious for making the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, her contagious laugh, and Mimi hugs.”
She is survived by two daughters, Lindsay Nicole Crise and Allison Danielle Wahbi; two grandchildren, Abraham Magnus Wahbi and Norah Johanne Wahbi; brother, Robert (Kim) Emery; sister, Linda (Allen) Skeet; nieces and nephews; extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Smith Family Funeral Home-Hot Springs, 2205 Airport Road, Hot Springs, AR 71913. Guest registry is at www.smithfamilycares.com.
