QUENEMO, Kan. – Scott Daniel Cowdin, 47, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at his home in Quenemo, Kan. He was born March 31, 1976, in Ottawa, Kan., the son of Danny Michael and Ginger Lea (Thornbrugh) Cowdin.

Scott graduated from Marais des Cygnes Valley High School, Melvern, Kan., in 1994.

He had worked as a painter for several years with his father and grandfather. He was a parts manager for NAPA Parts Store, in Ottawa, and had also worked at other parts stores in Ottawa. His interests were playing his guitar, fishing, and working on cars with his father.

Scott was married to Jessica Short, June 27, 2012, in Quenemo.

Scott was preceded in death by his son, Roudie Michael Cowdin; maternal grandparents, Cloyce and June (Heilmann) Thornbrugh; paternal grandparents, Danny and Thelma (Meeks) Cowdin; and in-laws, Brad and Linda Short.

Scott is survived by his wife, Jessica, of the home; and his parents, Michael and Ginger Cowdin, Quenemo.

Scott was a great husband, son and friend. He leaves a gaping hole in our hearts and an emptiness in our lives and homes.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon, Kan. The family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Quenemo.
