OVERBROOK, Kan. – Elinor L. Baldwin, 99, died Friday, June 2, 2023, at Overbrook, Kan. She was born July 5, 1923, in Topeka, Kan., the daughter of Arnold and Eva (Moody) Koenitzer.

Elinor spent 12 years going to nursing school after graduating from high school. Elinor was employed for 31 years as a registered nurse under Dr. Hadley, at Ransom Memorial Hospital.

On Sept. 8, 1989, Elinor was united in marriage to Bill Baldwin, in Overbrook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Eva Moody; her husband, Bill; and a son, David Rukes.

She is survived by her two grandsons, Jason Rukes, of Sonoma, Calif., and Brad Rukes, Wichita, Kan.; and three great-grandsons, Jackson, Ethan, and Lucas, all of Wichita.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Lapeer, Kan. Burial will follow at Overbrook Cemetery. To celebrate Elinor’s life, a rosary will be at 6 p.m., followed by a visitation 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Lapeer.
