Nichole Marie Carter, 40, Melvern: June 17, 2023 – Oct. 19, 1982

MELVERN, Kan. – Nichole Marie Carter, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, was born Oct. 19, 1982, in Aurora, Colo., to Raymond Robert and Kim Louise (Salzman) Carter. Tragically, she departed this life June 17, 2023, near Melvern, Kan., at the age of 40 years, 7 months, and 28 days.

Nichole’s early years were spent in Colorado, where she formed lasting memories and cultivated her adventurous spirit. She later resided in Dickinson, N.D., before finding her home in Melvern four years ago. Embracing her versatility and resourcefulness, Nichole worked as a handywoman, lending her skills and expertise to the Melvern community.

With a zest for life and a knack for learning, Nichole could aptly be described as a “Jack of All Trades.” Her diverse range of abilities enabled her to tackle various tasks and challenges with unwavering determination. Whether she was fixing things around the neighborhood or lending a helping hand, Nichole’s dedication and passion shone through in all her endeavors.

In the wake of this profound loss, Nichole leaves behind a trail of cherished memories.

Nichole’s memory will forever be cherished by her friend and partner, Chris Winters, who provided constant love and support throughout her life. She is also survived by her loving mother, Kim Louise Salzman, and her devoted father, Raymond Robert Carter. Nichole’s legacy lives on through her four children, Elizabeth Louise Carter, Bethany Rain Hatzenbuhler, Jeremiah Isaac Hatzenbuhler, and Casandra Dawn Hatzenbuhler. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit and will forever hold her love close. In addition, Nichole is survived by her two sisters, Kimberly Ann DeBramaletta and Tara Ann Carter, and her brother, Trace Carter. Together, they formed a bond that transcends time and continues to serve as a testament to the unbreakable ties of family.

Nichole Marie Carter will forever be remembered for her tenacity, resilience, and unwavering commitment to her loved ones. Her infectious laughter, warm smile, and compassionate nature touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we mourn her untimely departure, let us also celebrate the vibrant life she lived and honor the legacy she leaves behind.

May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us all.

A visitation to celebrate Nichole’s life will be 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon.
