Local students recognized for scholastic achievements

Tyler Smith of Lyndon, Kan., has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s Winter 2023 President’s List. The winter terms run from January to May. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the SNHU President’s List. SNHU is located at Manchester, N.H. Shaffer on Graceland University Honor Roll

The honor roll lists for Graceland University’s 2023 spring term have been announced, and Dylan Shaffer of Osage City, Kan., has been named to the honors list. Graceland University students with a GPA between 3.65 and 3.99 are named to the honors list. Graceland University is in Lamoni, Iowa;, see www.graceland.edu.


Students honored at The Teachers College

EMPORIA, Kan. – Congratulations were given to more than 100 Emporia State University students, who received special recognition by The Teachers College at the end of the 2022-23 academic year.

Students from this area who received awards included Krista Charboneau, Lebo, Kan. and Sheri Moore, Lyndon, Kan. Both were recognized for achieving a 3.8 GPA.

Twenty-four received outstanding student awards and 96 students were honored for achievement of a 3.8 grade point average or higher. Undergraduate and graduate students were honored for excellence in their respective departments. Eleven students received outstanding undergraduate student awards and 13 students received outstanding graduate student awards.

Punches earns degrees from Cloud County Community College

Emily Punches, Burlingame, was among Cloud County Community College students who recently competed degree requirements. Students completing the degree requirements were recognized at the college’s commencement ceremony held May 19, 2023. Punches earned associate of arts and associate of general studies degrees.
