BURLINGAME, Kan. – Sandra “Sandy” Lee Garner, 70, of Burlingame, Kan., passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023. She was born July 19, 1952, in Casper, Wyo., to Stanley and Daisy Cureton.
Sandy was known for her love of Jesus. She was a devout Christian and studied her Bible daily. Sandy was involved in many church activities and groups. She also enjoyed going to garage sales, thrift shopping, and expanding her wardrobe of fashion, jewelry, and accessories. She was a member of the Red Hat Club.
Sandy loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be remembered for her talents in the kitchen, being able to cook almost anything from scratch. Always going above and beyond to make everyone happy, Sandy was the life of the room, always talking to everyone and brightening their day. Her family can recount her always saying “it is not a gloomy day, it is a Glory day”.
Preceding Sandy in passing were her parents; husband of 24 years, James; and brother, Ricky Young.
Surviving is her son, Lance (Angie) Green, Overbrook, Kan.; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Lawrence, Kan., Levi, Baldwin City, Kan., and Lauren and Lane, Overbrook; great-grandchild, Lucas Lee; seven siblings, Donna, Paula, Vickie, Lisa, Pam, Kenny, and Jay; and a host of nieces and nephews.
No services are scheduled at this time.
