MELVERN, Kan. – Barbara Jean (Tyson) Warner, 89, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka, Kan. She was born Sept. 18, 1933, in Waverly, Kan., to William and Stella (Tull) Tyson.
Barbara attended Melvern High School, Melvern, Kan., and graduated in 1951.
She married Raymond Warner, July 29, 1956, in Melvern.
During high school, Barbara worked at the old Beto Junction, and would later become a supervisor at Hallmark Cards before becoming a fulltime homemaker after her son, Russell, was born in 1960.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; three brothers; and granddaughter Maggie Warner, in 1999.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Raymond Warner, of Melvern; son, Russell (Maureen) Warner, Melvern; granddaughter, Destinee Warner, Topeka, Kan.; and grandson, Frank Warner, Melvern.
Barbara enjoyed gardening, animals, and country music. She loved her grandchildren, and her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother and grandma. Barbara will be remembered for her bold personality and the kindness and compassion she extended to all who knew her.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 6, at Melvern United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon, Kan.
