Osage County Sheriff’s reports:

At 4:10 p.m. June 25, 2023, an Osage County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at milepost 140 on U.S. Highway 75, near Carbondale, for a traffic violation. During the stop, illegal narcotics were located. The driver of the vehicle, James I. Morehead, 62, of Silver Lake, Kan., was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and interference with a law enforcement officer.

At 1:34 a.m. July 3, 2023, an Osage County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at First and Maple streets, in Overbrook, for a traffic violation. During the stop, illegal narcotics were located. The driver of the vehicle, Brett A. Nelson, 52, of Topeka, Kan., was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and no proof of liability insurance.
