Osage County Sheriff’s reports:
- At 1:57 a.m. July 12, 2023, an Osage County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at U.S. Highway 56 and South Croco Road for a traffic violation. During the stop, illegal narcotics were located. The driver of the vehicle, Chance D. Eastman, 44, of Overbrook, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia.
- The morning of July 12, 2023, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant at 126 SW Call Street, Melvern. An occupant of the residence, Kim L. Salzman, 66, of Melvern, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no drug tax stamp.
- The afternoon of July 13, 2023, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit, conducted proactive enforcement along the county line. During the enforcement, a traffic stop conducted in the 1000 block of Sand Creed Road in Franklin County subsequently led to arrests of two occupants of the vehicle. The driver, Marvin McWhorter Jr., 63, Quenemo, was arrested and transported to the Franklin County Jail on Franklin County charges of suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp, and driving while suspended. A passenger in the vehicle, Jesse Lindsey, 45, of Wellsville, was transported to the Franklin County Jail on a Miami County probation violation warrant. Information gathered during the stop led to a search warrant being executed at 20020 S. Stanley Road, Quenemo, by OSCO, FCSO, and Ottawa Police Department. As a result, additional charges relating to narcotics and stolen property are to be submitted to the Osage County Attorney’s Office.
