It’s summer and that means it’s fair time in Osage County. The Osage County Fair gets underway this week, July 18-23, 2023, at Osage City. A varied source of events and entertainment will be presented at Osage City’s Jones Park. Exhibitors set up Tuesday, animals and livestock are to be entered Wednesday, followed by the dog show, style revue, and goat and sheep show.
Thursday, Lions Club will open the club’s traditional food stand at 6 a.m. and will serve through the evening daily during the fair. From 6-9 p.m. will be community entertainment for all ages. The traditional Pie Baking Contest registration will be 5-6:15 p.m. and the contest will be at 6:30 p.m. inside the Osage City Community Building.
Friday, the parade begins at 6:30 p.m. along Market Street, and then the entertainment moves to Jones Park, where there will be inflatables, for the kids, and an axe throw for warriors, lumberjacks and frontiersmen. The St. Patrick Altar Society will sponsor bingo 7:30-9 p.m. at the community building. “Savanna Chestnut and the Hard Hands” will provide live musical entertainment 8-11 p.m. on the stage east of the community building. They will take a break at 10 p.m. for the fireworks display and resume playing afterward.
Saturday will be the final day of the fair, featuring the Touch-A-Truck event, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the stadium parking lot. Registration for the annual Cornhole Tournament will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the community building, with play starting at 3.

- 7 a.m. – Fairgrounds open to the public
- 8-11 a.m. – All exhibits entry (4-H, Open, FFA, Girl Scout/Boy Scout) Exhibit Hall and Fredrickson Arena
- 8 a.m. – Donuts and juice
- 10 a.m. – Goats and Sheep vet check – all goats and sheep must be vet checked before unloaded
- 11 a.m. – Mandatory livestock exhibitor meeting – Fredrickson Arena
- 11:30 p.m. – Exhibitor luncheon
- 12 p.m. – Livestock weigh-in
- 1 p.m. – Exhibit judging starts – Exhibit Hall closed to the public while judging
- 2 p.m. – 4-H Dog Show– Community Building
- 5 p.m. – 4-H Clothing Style Revue – Community Building
- 6:30 p.m. – 4-H Sheep and Goat Show – Fredrickson Arena

- 6-9 p.m. – Community entertainment – east of Community Building

- 11 – 2 p.m. – All exhibits released from Fairground, Exhibit Hall and Livestock Barns
- 2:30 p.m. – Registration and check-in for Corn-Hole Tournament – inside Exhibit Hall
- 3 p.m. – Corn-Hole Tournament – inside Exhibit Hall
- 6:30 p.m. – 4-H Livestock Sale – Fredrickson Arena
Sunday, July 23 – 12-2 p.m. – Fair clean-up, premium checks ready for pick-up at pavilion office window after clean-up.
