OVERBROOK – Brookside Retirement Community is celebrating National Assisted Living Week in a fun and unique way. Activities throughout the week for Brookside Assisted Living residents have included mini-golf; wine, cheese, beer and pretzel tastings; a trip to Wamego to the OZ Museum; and a spa experience put on by the staff.

But possibly the best has been saved for the last day of the celebratory week, which will culminate in a hot air balloon ride for several residents brave enough to explore the wild blue yonder! The hot air balloon ride is scheduled to take place around 7 a.m. Saturday, weather permitting.
