OSAGE CITY, Kan. – Jacob Walter Bellinger, 77, passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, at Peterson Assisted Living, Osage City, Kan. He was born June 3, 1946, in Fulda, Minn., the son of Freeman and Rensena Schuur Bellinger.

Jacob attended Wellsville High School, Wellsville, Kan., and graduated with the class of 1964.

Jacob once owned and operated Jake’s Texaco, in Ottawa, Kan. He later worked in the oil fields north of Lawrence, Kan.  He spent several years as a forklift operator at Unilever, Gardner, Kan., before retiring in the 1990s. Following his retirement, he delivered the Ottawa Herald for some time.

Jacob was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Weis, and his second wife, Carol Grauel. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sharon; and brothers, Billy and Jimmy.

He will live on in the hearts and memories of his daughters, Shelley Hamilton Rice, of Colorado, and Angela Hamilton McKeefery, Seattle, Wash.; sons, Mike Bellinger, Osawatomie, Kan., Brian Bellinger, Pullman, Wash., Mike Hamilton, Wellsville, and James Bellinger, Osage City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Lori, Kathy, Patti and Wanda; and brother, Kenny.
