
LYNDON, Kan. – Rudolph “Rudy” James Rottler Jr., 73, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at Plaza West Healthcare, Topeka, Kan. He was born Aug. 8, 1950, in Arnold, Mo., the son of Rudolph and Virginia (Brown) Rottler Sr.
Rudy graduated from Crystal City High School in 1968, then studied engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla, where he was also involved in the Reserve Officer Training Corps.
Rudy worked as an engineer at the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corp. near Burlington, for more than 25 years, until his retirement. He was a member of the Michigan Valley Community Church, near Pomona Lake, the Lyndon Lions Club, and volunteered at Help House, Lyndon, Kan.
Rudy was married to Savannah Adkison, Jan. 1, 2000, at the Michigan Valley Community Church.
Rudy is survived by his wife, Savannah, of the home; her children, Charlene Esquibel, Topeka, and Paul Brown, Topeka; his three sons, Trevis (Elise) Rottler, Overland Park, Kan., Nathan (Kristina) Rottler, Auburn, Kan., and Adam (Kaleigh) Rottler, Waverly, Kan.; two brothers, Robert (Patti) Rottler, of Illinois, and Benjamin (LaJune) Rottler, St. Genevieve, Mo.; sister, Barbara (Richard) Hensley, DeSoto, Mo.; 14 grandchildren, Taylor, Emmery, Kai, Bradyn, Rylan, Liam, Alice, Rowan, Genevieve, Andre, DeSzaniece, De’Anna, Carlos Jr. and Charae; and two great grandchildren, Hadley and Haven Hayes.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Michigan Valley Community Church, 6485 E. 221st St., Quenemo, northeast of Pomona Lake Dam. The family will receive friends 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday. Cremation will follow the services.
