Dorothy Marion Chisham, 101, Osage City: Dec. 12, 1922 – Jan. 20, 2024

OSAGE CITY, Kan. – Dorothy M. (Morehead) Chisham, 101, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at Vintage Park Assisted Living, Osage City. Dorothy Marion Morehead was born Dec. 12, 1922, near Osage City, the daughter of James Marion and Amanda A. (Brown) Morehead.

She attended school until the eighth grade at Rapp School.

She was joined in marriage to Joel H. Chisham, July 22, 1945, near Osage City. Joel preceded her in death Dec. 23, 2003.

Dorothy was a homemaker but she did painting and wallpapering in many homes in Osage City. She was very active in many organizations and churches. Dorothy was active on the fair board and American Legion Auxiliary, and was a member of the Extension Homemakers, and Miller United Methodist Church.

She will be forever remembered by her niece Mavet Cooper and Gary Briggs, of Osage City; and many dear friends.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the Miller United Methodist Church, Miller, Kan. Private burial will be at Rapp Cemetery. Family will receive friends an hour before the service.
