OSAGE CITY – James Leroy Gragg, 69, passed away on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at the Midland Hospice House, in Topeka. He was born on June 27, 1944, in Ottawa, Kan., the son of Marion and Yuneta Heilman Gragg.
James had grown up in Quenemo and lived in Lyndon and Overbrook before moving to Osage City five years ago.
He graduated from Quenemo High School and served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1971, having served in Vietnam. He worked as a forklift driver for Kan-Build, in Osage City, and Wal-Mart Distribution, in Ottawa. He was a member of the Osage City United Methodist Church.
On Aug. 11, 1990, James was united in marriage to Tracey Williams, near Overbrook.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Yuneta, and sister Norma Trendel.
James is survived by his wife Tracey of the home; his daughter, Shana Stephenson of Osawatomie; brother, Billy Gragg; sister, Connie Kimball, Harveyville; step-dad, Adolph Anderson, Osage City; and three grandchildren.
Private graveside services were held at Pleasant View Cemetery, east of Melvern. Memorial contributions may be made to the James Gragg Memorial Fund and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
