In front of family, friends, and a stadium full of fans, Jim McDaniel, Lyndon resident, was inducted as the first member of USD 421’s Ring of Honor on Sept. 20, during halftime of Lyndon High School’s homecoming football game.

McDaniel was recognized for his lifetime of dedication to Lyndon and its schools through his participation in school programs, involvement in the community, and for serving as a football announcer for the past 49 years.

The Ring of Honor is a prestigious honor that recognizes individuals who have been a USD 421 employee, a Lyndon High School student, or a USD 421 resident. The honor is to be bestowed on a deserving individual no more than once every two years.

McDaniel was presented a plaque that will be displayed in the high school gym.
