Hello from the Osage County Senior Center and the Osage County Public Transportation.
If you are a senior and in need of a box fan, let us know here at the senior center, as we have a few to hand out.
We had a great turn out this month for our potluck with 98 in attendance. Next month will be different soups, sandwiches, salads and desserts, at noon Wednesday, Oct. 2. A band will follow.
Our Grandparents Day bingo went well, it was a great turn out for that with wonderful Walmart gift cards for the prizes. We had Sloppy Joes, chips, cookies (Hometown Healthcare donated) and drinks. We want to thank all who came out, we hope you had a great time.
We are starting back our make ‘n’ take crafts every Thursday at 2 p.m. This activity will be at no cost. We have a basket weaving class Sept. 26 and 27; you can attend either class or both if you want. We will be making a napkin basket with all materials furnished. Come and enjoy making a basket and great company.
We have started bridge every Tuesday at 1 p.m.; anyone may join. I am looking for anyone that might be interested in learning how to play Mahjong. We are playing Tuesday afternoons at 2:30.
The ceramics class is going to change the time to 9:30 a.m. All supplies are furnished and we have lots of bisque to choose from. We have a sewing group that now has walker bags for sale – stop in and look around at the wonderful things they make. High Rollers is on Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons at 2 p.m. Maria from Home Town Health Care is here to call quarter Bingo every Tuesday at 10 a.m. Come and enjoy.
We are doing our shopping trips on the first and third Thursdays of the month, going to Topeka Walmart, Sam’s and Aldi’s. Call the transportation department to make reservations. Our Meals on Wheels program is collecting prescription bottle caps from Auburn Pharmacy, which donates 25 cents per cap to the Meals on Wheels program – just drop them off at the senior center.
